2024 L’Oréal-UNESCO Sub-Saharan Africa Young Talents Programme for Women in Science

Dear Fikia’s family,

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2024 L’Oréal-UNESCO Sub-Saharan Africa Young Talents Programme for Women in Science. This regional program aims to foster and celebrate the involvement of young African women in various scientific fields.

Eligibility Requirements:

- Must be a PhD student or have obtained a Ph.D in Life and Environmental sciences, Physical sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer and information sciences (2nd year at least).

- Should be from one of the 48 countries in the sub-Saharan African region, working in a research laboratory or institution within the region, or enrolled in a University in one of the 49 countries of the region (including South Africa).

- Researchers originally from South Africa conducting their research in South Africa are not eligible for this program.

Collaborative Actions of Young Talents:

Selected researchers commit to:

- Continue their research work.

- Manage the expenses detailed in the estimated budget of the application file.

- Submit a report on the research work to the L’Oréal Foundation in the year following the awarding of the Prize.

- Attend the "Management and Leadership" training and the award ceremony, scheduled for November 2024 in an African capital. Costs for transportation and accommodation for beneficiaries from all represented countries will be covered by the L’Oréal Foundation.
