We are excited to share a remarkable opportunity with you – the U.S. Embassy Djibouti Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State has announced the availability of funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This initiative seeks to strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Djibouti, fostering collaboration through various programs and exchanges.

Program Overview:

The PDS Djibouti invites proposals for projects that contribute to cultural and exchange programming, emphasizing shared values and promoting bilateral cooperation. The key focus areas include entrepreneurship and innovation in STEM fields, youth leadership programs, and professional and academic exchanges.

Priority Program Areas:

- Entrepreneurship, business development, tech/innovation skills

- English language acquisition

- Job seekers' skills development, including resume writing, interview preparation, and business software skills

Participants and Audiences:

PDS Djibouti welcomes applications from a diverse range of organizations in both Djibouti and the U.S. The target audience primarily includes young individuals in Djibouti City and across the country, seeking skills for employment or further education, including the enhancement of their English language proficiency.

Federal Award Information:

- Performance Period: 6 to 12 months

- Anticipated Number of Awards: Dependent on amounts

- Award Amounts: $5,000 to $25,000

- Total Funding Available: $50,000

- Funding Source: Fiscal Year 2024 Public Diplomacy Funding

- Anticipated Program Start Date: October 2024

Eligibility and Guidelines:

The program encourages applications from registered not-for-profit organizations, individuals, non-profit or governmental educational institutions, and governmental institutions. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Cost sharing is not required, and applicants are allowed to submit only one proposal per organization.
